PSFC

By Krista Jonnson and Andy Davis

"I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you." This is how the PSFC president responded when we asked his/her name. "To the public I should be known only as Peterina." Who is the masked person, and what is the secret organization? Well readers, you heard it here first; we have the inside scoop.

The Peter Sheedy Fan Club (hence PSFC) consists of three anonymous members, known only as Peterina (the president), Pious (vice president), and Sheeter (the organization's secretary). Despite their strict rules about visitors, Andy and I were bound and gagged for the most part during our escapade to their secret lair; the group members were fairly pleasant. They claim that they, "... are but a simple club." They dedicate their lives to idolizing senior superstar Peter Sheedy. They dress up in fancy duds (similar to those that Peter commonly sports), hang up signs, and they hold secret meetings. "Who says we're out of line?", "We'd hate to burst your bubble," and "To what do we owe this great honor?" are three of the club slogans that you can see on their propaganda littering the hallways. "These are designed to invoke curiosity," says Sheeter. As a matter of fact, invoking curiousity is a major goal of the club.

However, the three main goals of this fun-filled club are:

  1. Spread the love and reverence of Sheedy and share in his wit and intellect.
  2. Operate a successful dress up day by dressing like, acting similar to, and imitating the eating habits of Peter Sheedy. (They will be able to do this after they finish their in depth study of Mr. Peter Ryan Sheedy).
  3. Create a successful collection of Sheedy related paraphernalia.

Just because this is a secret organization doesn't mean that they won't accept new members. "If people want in, we beat 'em in," Pious says, "and if they want out, we beat 'em out."

Strange you say? Possibly demented? Without a doubt. But, as Peter Sheedy said when asked about his idolizing fan club, "It's about time." The members feel that Peter deserves this honor because... well... "Just look at him!" says Pious.

Factoids:

  • The picture above followed the article thanks to photographers Amy Kissell and Erin Conley. It was originally part of a gift to Peterina for her 15th birthday.
  • The PSFC did operate a successful Sheedy day on December 15. Sheedy's first response when he saw the three girls sporting various colored 3-button polos with Uni-Ball pens, khakis, golf hats, and Moxie was: "My God!"
  • The PSFC currently owns over 50 (previously) Sheedy-owned or related items.
  • In mid-June 1998, a new member, Cliff, was inducted into the club. He served as our only male member, and was beat in quite well, serving as a slave and raising over $25 for the PSFC treasury.
  • During March of the following year, Neil Misner, our first Canadian member, joined the squad to provide updates of Peter's adventures at McGill University.
  • A follow-up article is yet to be written. (Given that over four years have elapsed since it went to print, the PSFC's return in The Knight Report is doubtful.)
  • Andy and Krista remain allies with the PSFC.
